Sometimes, hope feels like a spark of light in the darkness. A small but powerful belief that change is possible, even when circumstances seem impossible. This story began with that hope—the hope of Esther, the hope of a community, and the hope of countless children dreaming of education.
Today, we can proudly say: this hope has become reality.
A new beginning: the school doors are open
Last Monday marked a milestone. After months of effort, challenges, and determination, the school finally opened its doors to its first students. Where there was once an empty plot of land, there are now sturdy school desks. Where there were once only dreams, the sound of children playing and teachers sharing knowledge now fills the air.
The impact of the school is immediately visible. Nakato, one of the mothers in the community, expressed her joy:
"I am so happy we have a new school. Thank you! Our children will now be able to learn English."
A community coming together
The realization of this school was not just the work of Esther and her team, but a collective effort by the entire community. From the very beginning, local residents united to make this project a success.
Together with her husband, Anthony, Esther dedicated an incredible amount of energy to preparing the school, but they were not alone. People from the surrounding area donated materials, helped with construction, and gathered resources to ensure that the school could become operational as soon as possible.
One of the community members, Sserunkuma, volunteered to make chairs and tables for the school. He was also the one who crafted the first pieces of furniture that the children are now using. His commitment is a beautiful example of how deeply invested the people are in this project.
Salongo Daniel, another resident, reflected on the transformation:
"We once had a school in this area, but it no longer exists. Now I see these new buildings and this initiative, and it gives me so much hope."
The community chairman, Chairman L.C2, emphasized how significant this development is for the village:
"You have built these big, beautiful buildings for us. This is a great step forward for our community. Thank you for bringing us this school!"
For many, this school represents more than just education; it is a chance for a brighter future. Mary, a mother, shared her gratitude:
"I am so happy that our children receive free education. Even the food, uniforms, and registration are free. This means so much to us."
Rodin: building a better future
This project was not just a technical or logistical challenge but also a journey in which the entire community played a role. One of the most inspiring stories we want to share is that of Rodin.
From the very start, Rodin has been filled with excitement about the progress of the new school and the accompanying home. He saw a place taking shape where he and other children would not only learn but also grow up in a safe and nurturing environment. Despite his young age, he wanted nothing more than to help.
With a big smile and an unstoppable determination, Rodin contributed—literally. He helped the builders where he could, carried bricks, and watched as the school took shape day by day. His dedication is a powerful symbol of hope, collaboration, and the desire to build a better future. Rodin dreams of walking through the completed classrooms and living spaces, knowing that he played a part in creating a place where he and others can reach their full potential.
His story reminds us that great change comes from small but determined steps taken by people who believe in a mission.
What’s next?
The first major step has been taken, but the work is far from over. In the coming months, we will continue to build an environment where these children can thrive. More school materials, additional teachers, and further improvements to the facilities are still needed.
Would you like to be a part of this journey? Together, we can help this dream grow even further. Every contribution—big or small—makes a world of difference.

Thank you for believing in the power of hope. As we can now see: hope can move mountains.
